The name Scattered showers comes from the language of weather forecasts. They have their own meteorological mood, neither threatening nor cheerful, allowing you to paint your own feeling on to them. Using small squares of various colours like cobalt, red, sage and ochre, or just one, a watercolour black, this design offers a dispersed, random pattern that is nonethless contained, each coloured square in its own soft white box. Some are solitary, some briefly paired, as if caught mid-fall. The randomness is controlled; the composition breathes. It is an exercise in restraint and punctuation, each tile a drop of colour suspended just before it lands.
